中国国际矿业大会是中国政府主办的矿业行业最高层的会议，涵盖了地质勘查、勘探开发、矿权交易、矿业投融资、冶炼与加工、技术与设备、矿业服务等整个矿业产业链。中国国际矿业大会不仅是一个矿产勘探、开发的交易平台，更是国内外矿业企业和相关机构交流沟通的桥梁。大会自1999年开始每年举办一届，迄今已举办十五届。自2009年，国土资源部首次与天津市人民政府共同主办中国国际矿业大会，迄今已连续合作五年。大会历经十五届的发展壮大，已经跻身于全球顶级矿业盛会。

　　本届大会名为“西部开发与中国矿业投资国际研讨会”，是西部大开发拉开序幕以后的第一次矿业领域会议。会议提出，提高西部矿产勘查开发对外开放水平，加大西部地区矿产勘查力度，实现中国矿业重心的逐步西移。

　　本届大会名为“中国矿业——2001国际研讨会”，大会展示了新时期我国地质勘查体制、矿业体制的重大变化。来自11个国家和地区的近200名代表参加了会议。加拿大和澳大利亚驻华使馆首次成为协办方。

　　This conference was called "China Mining-2001 International Symposium", it showed the big change of China in the geological prospecting system and mining system in the new period. 200 delegates from 11 countries and regions attended the conference. Canada and Australia embassies first became the assistant organizers.

　　This conference was called "China Mining-2004 International Symposium". This conference first organized a mining exhibition for the domestic and foreign exhibitors, which covered from the resources, the mining technology and equipment, and financing services to mining enterprises of other related services. 　　Under the background of the international financial crisis, this conference attached great importance to the global mining industry. 　　时任国务院副总理李克强出席大会并发表重要讲话。他指出，中国将按照坚持科学发展、加快转变经济发展方式的要求，把立足国内开发与加强国际合作结合起来，充分利用“两个市场”、“两种资源”，不断增强经济社会发展的能源资源保障能力。来自全球50多个国家和地区的政府官员、专家学者和矿业企业、金融机构的代表共4000多人参加大会。在大会组织的项目对接签约仪式上，共有62个项目签约，签约金额达到117亿元。大会期间，天津矿业权交易所正式揭牌。

　　China vice Premier Li Keqiang addressed during the opening ceremony of CHINA MINING Congress & Expo 2010 and he talked about how China and the world should co-operate and work together for mutual benefit and how to develop a sustainable mining industry.More than 4000 delegates from Government officials , specialists and scholars , mining companies and financing institution in more than 50 countries and regions attended this meeting. In the project signing ceremony, a total of 62 project contracted, and contract amount to 11.7 billion Yuan. During CHINA MINING 2010, the Tianjin Mining Exchange was officially opened.

　　This conference introduced keynote session, mining ministers' forum，mining development forum and another 34 sub-forums and 10 countries(regions) investment projects shows featuring rich content, high participation and strong interaction.A total of 7000 plus government officials, mining industry figures, experts and scholars from 55 countries and regions joined CHINA MINING 2013, adding over 1000 than last event. Of those 1300 delegates abroad, Sudan, Chile, Australia, Argentina and Canada organized strong participant entrants. 12 mining ministers or deputy ministers and 14 ambassadors（envoys）from such countries and regions as Australia, Canada, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Peru, Serbia, Greenland, India, Namibia, Argentina, Bolivia, attended this conference.
